The Ambassador, Mumbai is proud to work under CSR Activity with Vatsalya Foundation.Vatsalya meaning Parental Love, was established in 1982 by the students of College of Social Work, Nirmala Niketan who came across street children at the railway stations, Marine Drive and near Bombay Hospital. The Vatsalya Foundation was initiated as a field action project of the College.
It was registered under the Bombay Public Trust Act in 1994. Vatsalya is a pioneer agency working with street children in Mumbai city through its multilevel approach of outreach, child-to-child contact, contact centers and shelter home. The years gone by have seen the consolidation of Vatsalya's activities towards holistic development of street children rooted firmly in a child rights perspective. The non-institutional approach of Vatsalya, adopted since its inception is the characteristic of its philosophy.
